With a little luck, Fortaleza Esporte Clube's Walmir Reis got control of the ball when Bruno Coutinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Walmir Reis made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Bruno Coutinho sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruno Coutinho got free with Walmir Reis in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Walmir Reis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Rui Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Fabiano Soeiro hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Fortaleza Esporte Clube's Cássio Zago got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 29thth minute of the game Pedro Paulo Cabral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fortaleza Esporte Clube's Walmir Reis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cocau Brasilia FC o o's Manoel Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ludomir Golembiewski in the 31st minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Fortaleza Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Paulo Cabral came free, but Walmir Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manoel Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ludomir Golembiewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rui Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 38 minutes Cocau Brasilia FC o o's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ludomir Golembiewski who took care of the corner kick. In the 40th match minute, Fortaleza Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurício Sarmento to maneuver through the defense. Walmir Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Cabral in the 44th minute of play. In the 48th minute Rui Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manoel Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ludomir Golembiewski made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Coutinho in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walmir Reis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cocau Brasilia FC o o's Manoel Souza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Cocau Brasilia FC o o from getting a goal against them. Manoel Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ludomir Golembiewski in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, Cocau Brasilia FC o o's Túlio Dantas got a free kick in the 57th minute. After having played for 59 minutes, Cássio Zago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fortaleza Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cássio Zago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Cocau Brasilia FC o o getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Mazinho Bittencourt hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the game, Mazinho Bittencourt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cocau Brasilia FC o o's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fortaleza Esporte Clube the free kick. In the 63rd minute, Mazinho Bittencourt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Fortaleza Esporte Clube's Ludomir Golembiewski broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Ludomir Golembiewski kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Walmir Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Cabral in the 79th minute of play. After 80 played minutes Cocau Brasilia FC o o got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Coutinho. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Pedro Paulo Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cocau Brasilia FC o o's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Paulo Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmir Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Walmir Reis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Paulo Cabral's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Walmir Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caco Penha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cocau Brasilia FC o o's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
