Batıhan Uluerkan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Zé Augusto de Brito. EC Bahia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Batıhan Uluerkan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Zé Augusto de Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilson Silva made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Magno Pernambucano sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, EC Bahia's Dráuzio de Godoi got a free kick in the 18th minute. 28 minutes into the game, E.C.Bahia's Batıhan Uluerkan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Augusto de Brito made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 31st minute, Gilberto Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Magno Pernambucano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Wilson Silva made a huge save. In the 40th minute, Ademir Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dráuzio de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dráuzio de Godoi to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Batıhan Uluerkan managed to get in a good position for a shot. E.C.Bahia's supporters rose to their feet, but Batıhan Uluerkan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Augusto de Brito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The E.C.Bahia fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when E.C.Bahia's Raphael Vergílio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of E.C.Bahia booed when EC Bahia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dráuzio de Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Raphael Vergílio came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the E.C.Bahia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raphael Vergílio couldn't finish the play. Arnaldo Alves hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. With his leg Zé Augusto de Brito managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when E.C.Bahia's Raphael Vergílio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Raphael Vergílio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dominik Zawacki struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Zé Augusto de Brito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C.Bahia. In the 84th minute, Raphael Vergílio fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Zé Augusto de Brito, passed just outside the right post. EC Bahia's Dráuzio de Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dráuzio de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded E.C.Bahia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than EC Bahia.
