Celsinho Ferreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Recife Pe. Recife Pe's Benedito Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 22 played minutes Recife Pe got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Dias. Celsinho Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedito Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Recife Pe booed when Bota Casaco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arthur Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ademar Prado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Celsinho Ferreira. Bota Casaco's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Hílton Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hílton Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Claudinho Couto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celsinho Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aírton da Costa in the 37th minute of play. Aírton da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hílton Amaral scored 1-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomás Berger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 48 minutes into the match, Bota Casaco's goal looked a bit too open when Aírton da Costa came free, but Celsinho Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hílton Amaral to strike the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Hílton Trevisan in the 54th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Bota Casaco's Zé Carioca. Zé Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Tomás Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aírton da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Ferreira having to interfere. Bota Casaco's Zé Carioca quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Hílton Trevisan, made in the 61st minute of the game. Hílton Amaral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomás Berger having to make a save. When Hílton Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Bota Casaco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hílton Amaral couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Recife Pe's goalkeeper Tomás Berger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 90 played minutes Recife Pe got a freekick which was hit by Breno Tinoco. 95 minutes into the match, Bota Casaco's goal looked a bit too open when Benedito Silva came free, but Celsinho Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
