Spectators: 7496 (Terracing: 5623, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) Vivaldo Pinho started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 4 played minutes Santa Cruz Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Juninho Rosa. Vivaldo Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Laércio Tepedino sped through Santa Cruz Futebol Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Valdo Dante. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Paulinho Cunha put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Valdo Dante. Laércio Tepedino scored 0-3 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valdo Dante, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Valdo Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulinho Cunha in the 25th minute of play. The supporters of Santa Cruz Futebol Clube booed when Red BuL Sao Carlos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiburcio Gizon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laércio Tepedino charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Laércio Tepedino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th minute, Laércio Tepedino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute Paulinho Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdo Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Red BuL Sao Carlos's Paulinho Cunha in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Santa Cruz Futebol Clube's goalie prevented a goal. Valdo Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio Tepedino in the 36th minute of play. Valdo Dante came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Red BuL Sao Carlos's Laércio Tepedino. But to his dismay, Laércio Tepedino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Valdo Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulinho Cunha in the 42nd minute of play. After recieving a nice pass, Red BuL Sao Carlos's Fernandinho Fernandez tried to score from far away in the 44th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 46 minutes into the game, Red BuL Sao Carlos's Paulinho Cunha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valdo Dante made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. The Santa Cruz Futebol Clube players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Red BuL Sao Carlos were winning 0-5.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulinho Cunha to strike the kick off in the second half. Paulinho Cunha came free with the goalkeeper in the 53rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Valdo Dante could save by the left post. Vivaldo Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Ernesto Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valdo Dante made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulinho Cunha in the 61st minute. 62 minutes into the match, Laércio Tepedino dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Valdo Dante, 0-6. Valdo Dante made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Paulinho Cunha sent off a good shot on target. In the 68th match minute, Santa Cruz Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilian da Silveira to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Paulinho Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red BuL Sao Carlos's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulinho Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdo Dante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 71st minute, Ivo Carioca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 73rd minute of the match, Paulinho Cunha got a very nice opportunity to score, but Valdo Dante was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulinho Cunha got free with Valdo Dante in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paulinho Cunhas short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Valdo Dante to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Zeca Fernandez hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. If Laércio Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laércio Tepedino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdo Dante having to interfere. Valdo Dante came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Red BuL Sao Carlos's Paulinho Cunha. But to his dismay, Paulinho Cunha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. When the final whistle sounded Red BuL Sao Carlos left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Santa Cruz Futebol Clube.
