Spectators: 7460 (Terracing: 5596, Seating: 1715, VIP seats: 149) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Paulinho Carioca took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3 played minutes Santa Cruz Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Anísio Rosado. In the 4th match minute, Therezina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luís Mangueira to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Therezina's zone, Wilian da Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitório Seco came out of the goal and Wilian da Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdo Dante stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Luís Mangueira's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Paulinho Carioca put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Valdo Dante. Paulinho Carioca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Vivaldo Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulinho Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Valdo Dante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anísio Rosado's late challenge caught a Therezina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anísio Rosado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 33rd match minute, Santa Cruz Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio Rosado to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute of the match Vânderson Nogueira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valdo Dante showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 44 minutes of play, Therezina's Paulinho Carioca made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valdo Dante was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Therezina were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vivaldo Pinho to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Juninho Rosa made a precise shot to the right of Vitório Seco. Therezina's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. When Bruninho Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santa Cruz Futebol Clube's protests and gave Bruninho Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. Bruninho Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Valdo Dante was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Vânderson Nogueira. Paulinho Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute of the match Alfredão Berger shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vitório Seco showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Valdo Dante made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when André Luís Mangueira sent off a good shot on target. Therezina were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
