Fryderyk Sobczak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josué Amaral in the 3rd minute of play. In the 3rd match minute, TLB United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Falcão to maneuver through the defense. 5 minutes into the match, TLB United's goal looked a bit too open when José Pedro de Godoi came free, but Fryderyk Sobczak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 7th minute by Paulinho Mineiro got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Geovanni Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the game, Apostolos Valaoras recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Emanuel Motta. Apostolos Valaoras showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. José Pedro de Godoi took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fryderyk Sobczak. Fryderyk Sobczak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Apostolos Valaoras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Motta having to interfere. Chicão Sabóia charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chicão Sabóia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to TLB United getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Chicão Sabóia hit a great ball. Fryderyk Sobczak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josué Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. TLB United's Fryderyk Sobczak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josué Amaral in the 23rd minute of play. Júlio Falcão hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the TLB United defense, Baltazar Santana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fryderyk Sobczak. The TLB United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fryderyk Sobczak should have stopped the shot. Fernando Abraão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Emanuel Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute Baltazar Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fryderyk Sobczak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. TLB United's Fryderyk Sobczak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Pedro de Godoi in the 32nd minute of play. If Fernando Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulinho Mineiro was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Geovanni Travassos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. A collision led to Maia getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Geovanni Travassos hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baltazar Santana got free with Fryderyk Sobczak in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Geovanni Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Fryderyk Sobczak made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when José Pedro de Godoi sent off a good shot on target. Fryderyk Sobczak was a little too slow when José Pedro de Godoi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 1-4. When José Pedro de Godoi came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Maia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Pedro de Godoi couldn't finish the play. José Pedro de Godoi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, Fryderyk Sobczak skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 81st minute, Fernando Abraão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josué Amaral in the 85th minute of play forced TLB United's goalkeeper Fryderyk Sobczak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fryderyk Sobczak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Pedro de Godoi in the 86th minute of the match. After having played for 96 minutes, Paulinho Mineiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. TLB United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulinho Mineiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maia's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
