Formigueiro's Osvaldo Aparecido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Toledo in the 6th minute of play. Olavo Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Aparecido having to interfere. Osvaldo Aparecido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enéas Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olavo Toledo in the 19th minute of play forced Formigueiro's goalkeeper Osvaldo Aparecido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, SERRANO's goalkeeper Vincent McGorrie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raphael Palmeira. In the 25th minute, Virgílio Arósio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Formigueiro's zone, Olavo Toledo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldo Aparecido came out of the goal and Olavo Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Formigueiro's Orlando Lopez got a free kick in the 31st minute. After a rather tough play, SERRANO's Doriva de Andrade got a free kick in the 38th minute. Osvaldo Aparecido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agnaldo Perez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Osvaldo Aparecido was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Arthur Neves. Júlio Bueno was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 57th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Doriva de Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. A collision led to SERRANO getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Lucas de Azevedo hit a great ball. In the 63rd match minute, SERRANO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enéas Moreira to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the match, SERRANO's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Bueno came free, but Vincent McGorrie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in SERRANO fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! After 74 played minutes Formigueiro got a freekick which was hit by Edson Freitas. After having played for 79 minutes, Olavo Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SERRANO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olavo Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SERRANO's Silas de Moraes shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 79th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Osvaldo Aparecido but with some difficulty. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgílio Arósio got free with Osvaldo Aparecido in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 84 minutes, Virgílio Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paulo Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Vincent McGorrie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as SERRANO's Olavo Toledo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Osvaldo Aparecido. That made the score 1-3 after 92 minutes of play. Olavo Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Aparecido having to interfere. Edson Freitas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 98th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vincent McGorrie. SERRANO's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
