Basu EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gil Prata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 23 minutes into the game, Hortêncio Catarinense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Erasmo Dias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Erasmo Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Messias in the 30th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel Nascimento got free with Fabrício Barros in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Hortêncio Catarinense came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Basu EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hortêncio Catarinense couldn't finish the play. In the 39th minute Gil Prata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erasmo Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the ALFA center´s defense, Hortêncio Catarinense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erasmo Dias. The ALFA center´s fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erasmo Dias should have stopped the shot. Gil Prata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hortêncio Catarinense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hortêncio Catarinense made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hortêncio Catarinense in the 53rd minute of play forced ALFA center´s's goalkeeper Erasmo Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Viana lost his temper 55 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After a rather tough play, Basu EC's Christian Viana got a free kick in the 55th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Amadeu Dante was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Basu EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ALFA center´s the free kick. Amadeu Dante hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 62 minutes into the match, Basu EC's goal looked a bit too open when Mário Abraão came free, but Fabrício Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabrício Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, ALFA center´s's Narciso Barral got a free kick in the 67th minute. The Basu EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabrício Barros should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Basu EC booed when ALFA center´s was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute Mário Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrício Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabrício Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Messias in the 78th minute of play. When Edu Breckenfeld fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ALFA center´s's protests and gave Edu Breckenfeld a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, Edu Breckenfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugênio Netto charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eugênio Netto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Basu EC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
