Ronaldinho Dracena came out of the goal and Cafu Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 4th minute Lino Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldinho Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 5 minutes of play, Nuporanga SC's Cafu Toledo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ronaldinho Dracena was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lino Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cafu Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ronaldinho Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Víktor Vinhas kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Ronaldinho Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cafu Toledo in the 17th minute of the match. Ademar Pontes struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Ronaldinho Dracena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nuporanga SC. When Nuporanga SC's Lino Souto in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Thanks to some nice moves Severino Schmidt could shoot a difficult shot in the 26th minute, which João Rossi however easily saved by the left post. Rubinho Couto hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Nuporanga SC's goalkeeper João Rossi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severino Schmidt. In the 41st minute, Ademar Pontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, João Rossi successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Severino Schmidt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Jardim Julia's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Souto came free, but Ronaldinho Dracena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ademar Pontes during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 54 played minutes Nuporanga SC got a freekick which was hit by Ademar Pontes. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cafu Toledo got free with Ronaldinho Dracena in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Jardim Julia booed when Nuporanga SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademar Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ademar Pontes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 63 minutes had been played. In the 63rd match minute, Nuporanga SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar Pontes to maneuver through the defense. When Severino Schmidt came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Jardim Julia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Schmidt couldn't finish the play. The Nuporanga SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nuporanga SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
