In the 12th minute, Luís Paulo Dias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Júlio Pires's late challenge caught a Buritama Sport Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Júlio Pires helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th match minute, Maceió Ice Dragons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Pires to maneuver through the defense. Luisão Munhoz hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Paulinho de Lima took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Richard Ferraz. Maceió Ice Dragons's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Buritama Sport Club's Paulo de Godoi got control of the ball when Paulão Pombal tried to sneak it across the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Romário Almeida was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maceió Ice Dragons's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buritama Sport Club the free kick. Romário Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Júlio Pires's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo de Godoi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After 30 minutes Buritama Sport Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Romário Almeida who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Romário Almeida got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Paulo de Godoi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Fabiano Veiga fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buritama Sport Club's protests and gave Fabiano Veiga a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute Luís Paulo Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo de Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júlio Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo de Godoi having to interfere. After 45 played minutes Buritama Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Olívio de Lima. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulão Pombal made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Júlio Pires ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo de Godoi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After 57 played minutes Buritama Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Olívio de Lima. If Luís Paulo Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Maceió Ice Dragons getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Laércio Couto hit a great ball. The supporters of Buritama Sport Club booed when Maceió Ice Dragons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulão Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Paulo Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo de Godoi having to interfere. Maceió Ice Dragons walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
