After a defensive mix-up in Maceió Ice Dragons's zone, Sandrinho de Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richard Ferraz came out of the goal and Sandrinho de Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlinhos Guerra hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the match, Maceió Ice Dragons's goalkeeper Richard Ferraz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severino Schmidt. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Paulo Dias in the 40th minute of play forced Jardim Julia's goalkeeper Ronaldinho Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Jardim Julia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Romário Almeida was slow to take the kick. During this time Maceió Ice Dragons's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Jardim Julia getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Zézinho dos Santos hit a great ball. Jardim Julia's Ronaldinho Dracena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Jardim Julia from getting a goal against them. Fausto Coutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Paulão Pombal came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Maceió Ice Dragons fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulão Pombal couldn't finish the play. Júlio Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Ronaldinho Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
