In the 16th minute, Róbson Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joel dos Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Joanesia defense, Júnior Sampaio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joel dos Santos. The Joanesia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel dos Santos should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Tiago Negri put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Joel dos Santos. A collision led to Joanesia getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Roberto Luz hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Joanesia's zone, Juninho Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel dos Santos came out of the goal and Juninho Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tiago Negri hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute Tiago Negri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel dos Santos came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Leonor Futebol Clube's Rafa de Lima. But to his dismay, Rafa de Lima quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Rafa de Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Joel dos Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel dos Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

The wind increased when Durval Saraiva made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, one of Joanesia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Joanesia. Leonor Futebol Clube's Anselmo Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durval Saraiva in the 63rd minute of play. Joel dos Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafa de Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Júnior Sampaio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joel dos Santos. Joanesia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Júnior Sampaio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Rafa de Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Joel dos Santos made a huge save. In the 85th minute, Abelardo Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 88 minutes into the match, Joanesia's goal looked a bit too open when Júnior Sampaio came free, but Joel dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorginho Mazza charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 95 played minutes, Leonor Futebol Clube's Juninho Catarinense shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joel dos Santos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Leonor Futebol Clube reached it. With an all-out effort, Leonor Futebol Clube's Joel dos Santos threw himself towards the right post 98 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Júnior Sampaio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 99 minutes into the match, Joanesia's goal looked a bit too open when Júnior Sampaio came free, but Joel dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonor Futebol Clube's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
