Tony de Alcântara was left in no man's land by his defense there! 18 minutes into the match, Cumbe EC's goalkeeper Tony de Alcântara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dadá Paraíba. The supporters of Cumbe EC booed when Joanesia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Róbson Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. When João Adolfo Soares came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Cumbe EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Adolfo Soares couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Joanesia's zone, Gláuber Lucas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel dos Santos came out of the goal and Gláuber Lucas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Cumbe EC defense, Dadá Paraíba kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tony de Alcântara. The Cumbe EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tony de Alcântara should have stopped the shot. The Cumbe EC fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Cumbe EC's Faustão Miranda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tony de Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Durval Saraiva in the 45th minute of the match. Tony de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Durval Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Saraiva in the 71st minute of play forced Cumbe EC's goalkeeper Tony de Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute Dadá Paraíba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony de Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony de Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Durval Saraiva in the 79th minute of the match. Faustão Miranda's late challenge caught a Joanesia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Faustão Miranda helped the player get up and apologised. After 96 played minutes Cumbe EC got a freekick which was hit by Faustão Miranda. Dadá Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony de Alcântara having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Cumbe EC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
