Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nat Vaughn in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Steve Kerr prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nat Vaughn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 67 minutes, Darci Ortolan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter de Meião F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darci Ortolan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Inter de Meião F.C's Nat Vaughn got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vladimir de Castro's late challenge caught a Ceará's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vladimir de Castro helped the player get up and apologised. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ceará had played much better football throughout.
