Gilmar Schmidt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Gerson Nóbrega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerson Nóbrega showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agostinho Leme in the 47th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After 89 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Fernandão Palmeira. In the 95th minute of the match Paulo José Ferraz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gerson Nóbrega skillfully saved the ball.
