After 3 minutes, Simão Vasconcelos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Iara and the Maracaja players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Iara getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Simão Vasconcelos hit a great ball. With a little luck, Iara's Gilson Dracena got control of the ball when Oswaldo Coutinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Iara's goalkeeper Gilson Dracena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oswaldo Coutinho. Iara's Simão Vasconcelos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alessandro Baptista, made in the 12th minute of the game. 18 minutes into the match, Iara's goalkeeper Gilson Dracena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernani Ramalho. In the 21st minute, Maracaja's Almir Brito ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gilson Dracena. Gilson Dracena yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Oswaldo Coutinho took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gilson Dracena. Gilson Dracena dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 28th minute, Almir Brito reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gilson Dracena. The goal made the score 4-0. The supporters of Maracaja booed when Iara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raphael Leite didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilson Dracena was a little too slow when Oswaldo Coutinho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 5-0. Benjamin Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Gilson Dracena made a huge save. Gilson Dracena was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Ernani Ramalho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ernani Ramalho really showed his touch with that goal: 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Cunha in the 47th minute of play forced Iara's goalkeeper Gilson Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilson Dracena made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Oswaldo Coutinho sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 7-0 at half-time.

Gilson Dracena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernani Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Almir Brito in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilson Dracena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alessandro Baptista in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilson Dracena saved Iara from getting behind. Gilson Dracena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Cunha in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Ernani Ramalho made a precise shot to the right of Gilson Dracena. Iara's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Gilson Dracena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswaldo Coutinho in the 64th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Almir Brito ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilson Dracena was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. Gilson Dracena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamin Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Iara's goal looked a bit too open when Alessandro Baptista came free, but Gilson Dracena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Iara's goal looked a bit too open when Ernani Ramalho came free, but Gilson Dracena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almir Brito in the 86th minute of play forced Iara's goalkeeper Gilson Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Oswaldo Coutinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilson Dracena. Iara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oswaldo Coutinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 12-0. After 90 minutes of play, Maracaja's Benjamin Cunha made it 13-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilson Dracena was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gilson Dracena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Almir Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 97th minute Oswaldo Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilson Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Maracaja players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
