In the 13th minute, Almir Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benjamin Alagoano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jorge Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Almir Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, Délio Palmeira sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Aliança EC's Jorge Soares didn't even have to move. In the 21st minute, Benjamin Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Maracaja's Fellipe Nogueira got a free kick in the 21st minute. 24 minutes into the match, Aliança EC's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Cunha came free, but Jorge Soares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Almir Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th match minute, Aliança EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Falcão Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. After 31 played minutes, Aliança EC's Arthur Sousa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Doni Mangueira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Aliança EC reached it. Benjamin Cunha's late challenge caught a Aliança EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamin Cunha helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Maracaja getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. In the 38th minute, Benjamin Alagoano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aliança EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Jorge Soares came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Maracaja's Ernani Ramalho. But to his dismay, Ernani Ramalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Doni Mangueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moisés da Fonseca in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

During the 54th minute of the match Moisés da Fonseca completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Moisés da Fonseca a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almir Brito in the 62nd minute of play forced Aliança EC's goalkeeper Jorge Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arthur Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Maracaja's Délio Palmeira got his second yellow card of the match in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Maracaja had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
