In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Itabuna FC.'s goalkeeper Artur Rezende, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 6 minutes of play, Jequitahy SC's Gilvan Proença made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Artur Rezende was left in no man's land by his defense there! 10 minutes into the match, Itabuna FC.'s goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Torres came free, but Artur Rezende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, Jefferson Vianna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itabuna FC.'s Artur Rezende proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Itabuna FC. from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jefferson Vianna in the 17th minute of play forced Jequitahy SC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jefferson Vianna hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Itabuna FC.'s Artur Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro Torres in the 19th minute of play. Álvaro Torres ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 58th minute, Jefferson Vianna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute of the match Murillo Campidelis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artur Rezende showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jequitahy SC's Álvaro Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Artur Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Álvaro Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute Álvaro Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Álvaro Torres in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Artur Rezende saved Itabuna FC. from getting behind. The supporters of Jequitahy SC booed when Itabuna FC. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jefferson Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 69 minutes, Gilvan Proença managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jequitahy SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilvan Proença was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 72 minutes into the match, Beto Pirani notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Itabuna FC.'s Artur Rezende. Artur Rezende was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sérgio Mumbach struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Nelsinho Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itabuna FC.. Artur Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beto Pirani in the 97th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Jequitahy SC had played much better football throughout.
