Agnaldo Santana showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The audience was convinced that Dedê Alves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benjamin Reis was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Benjamin Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doriva Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

53 minutes had been played when some careless play by OsCaneleiros's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Zé Roberto Maranhense was slow to take the kick. During this time Inajaroba EC's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Laerte Martins heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Agnaldo Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Benjamin Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doriva Mota in the 62nd minute of play. OsCaneleiros's José Pedro de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Santana in the 65th minute of play. Agnaldo Santana's late challenge caught a OsCaneleiros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Agnaldo Santana helped the player get up and apologised. After 70 played minutes Inajaroba EC got a freekick which was hit by Agnaldo Santana. Benjamin Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdir Pires in the 74th minute of play. Doriva Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Reis having to interfere. After 78th play minutes Agnaldo Santana shot 2-1, a short shot which went by José Pedro de Mendonça and just under the crossbar into goal. A collision led to Inajaroba EC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Agnaldo Santana hit a great ball. Laerte Martins hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 87 minutes into the match, Inajaroba EC's goal looked a bit too open when Doriva Mota came free, but Benjamin Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
