The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 23rd minute, Rui Braga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Behiç Erkinay to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Olympus booed when COLUMBUS CREW BR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horácio Mandrak didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 57 minutes, Ettore Mastrocola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olympus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ettore Mastrocola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. COLUMBUS CREW BR's Dráusio Queiroz shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 59th minute of play. The shot was stopped by José Maria Nascimento but with some difficulty. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Olympus walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
