Luís Gustavo de Senna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 11th match minute, COLUMBUS CREW BR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Zanette to maneuver through the defense. When Laranjo EC's Vítor Paraense in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Vítor Paraense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mário Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 33 minutes into the game, Horácio Mandrak recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luís Gustavo de Senna. Horácio Mandrak showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. COLUMBUS CREW BR's Celso Zanette was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 37th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 40 played minutes COLUMBUS CREW BR got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Coutinho. Vítor Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Matos having to interfere. The supporters of Laranjo EC booed when COLUMBUS CREW BR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Celso Zanette to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match Thomás Bezerra sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luís Gustavo de Senna skillfully saved the ball. In the 56th minute of the match Thomás Bezerra shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luís Gustavo de Senna showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Laranjo EC's Luís Gustavo de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Zanette in the 58th minute of play. Vítor Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Matos having to interfere. Mário Matos made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when João de Alcântara sent off a good shot on target. The COLUMBUS CREW BR fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when COLUMBUS CREW BR's Enrique Baiano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 77th minute Enrique Baiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Gustavo de Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Gustavo de Senna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Enrique Baiano went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Horácio Mandrak hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 6-0 became the score in the 84th minute when Celso Zanette elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Elivélton do Vale's late challenge caught a COLUMBUS CREW BR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elivélton do Vale helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of COLUMBUS CREW BR booed when Laranjo EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 91 minutes of play, COLUMBUS CREW BR's Enrique Baiano made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luís Gustavo de Senna was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, COLUMBUS CREW BR's Mário Matos got control of the ball when Vítor Paraense tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. COLUMBUS CREW BR had won after a very even match.
