Anderson Saraiva kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Márcio Porto hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, Luís Paulo Fonseca had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jairo Schmidt. BANGU MG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Paulo Fonseca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. BANGU MG's Jairo Schmidt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save BANGU MG from getting a goal against them. The BANGU MG fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when BANGU MG's Anderson Saraiva looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Anderson Saraiva fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BANGU MG's protests and gave Anderson Saraiva a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Fluminense di Parma booed when BANGU MG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anderson Saraiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erik Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anderson Saraiva in the 44th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Anderson Saraiva made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Germano Cano in the 56th minute of play forced BANGU MG's goalkeeper Jairo Schmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jairo Schmidt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Paulo Fonseca in the 58th minute of the match. Anderson Saraiva took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erik Ramalho. Erik Ramalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Erik Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeu Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the match, Fluminense di Parma's goalkeeper Erik Ramalho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Márcio Porto. Thanks to some nice moves Márcio Porto could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Erik Ramalho however easily saved by the left post. 79 minutes into the match, Romeu Almeida dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Erik Ramalho, 2-3. After a rather tough play, BANGU MG's José Vítor Leite got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 85th match minute, Fluminense di Parma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by German Cano to maneuver through the defense. If Celso Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Márcio Porto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Ramalho having to interfere. Erik Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeu Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The BANGU MG supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing BANGU MG would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
