Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Gaviões Futebol Clube's Luiz Fabiano de Almeida started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tião Galvão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Haroldo Loureiro in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute José Augusto Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tião Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Gaviões Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Paulinho Arantes hit a great ball. In the 7th minute, Beto Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Augusto Braga received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tião Galvão came out and tried to block the shot, but José Augusto Braga slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 10th minute. If Luiz Fabiano de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fabiano de Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Gaviões Futebol Clube defense, Haroldo Loureiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tião Galvão. The Gaviões Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tião Galvão should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Fabiano de Almeida in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto Dracena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cido Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Dracena having to interfere. If Luiz Fabiano de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Haroldo Loureiro got free with Tião Galvão in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tião Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Loureiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44thth minute of the game Luiz Fabiano de Almeida who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gororos's Ernesto Dracena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Paulinho Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Dracena having to interfere. Paulinho Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulinho Arantes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 54th minute. Gaviões Futebol Clube's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Ernesto Dracena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano de Almeida in the 54th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Vitinho Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 70 minutes, José Augusto Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gororos's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Augusto Braga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gaviões Futebol Clube's Ricardinho Chaves was substituted for Cido Luz. Ricardinho Chaves hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. When José Augusto Braga came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Gororos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Augusto Braga couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Gororos's zone, Luiz Fabiano de Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernesto Dracena came out of the goal and Luiz Fabiano de Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Augusto Braga took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tião Galvão. Tião Galvão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Gaviões Futebol Clube's Luiz Fabiano de Almeida slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ernesto Dracena. That made the score 3-1 after 93 minutes of play. Gaviões Futebol Clube's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Gororos had won, even though Gaviões Futebol Clube had held more of the ball.
