Giovanni Pontes charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Giovanni Pontes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 10 played minutes Sport Club Niquito got a freekick which was hit by Giovanni Pontes. Alfredo Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Simões in the 12th minute of play. In the 25th match minute, Sport Club Niquito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duda Neiva to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 26 minutes, Luiz Fabiano de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gaviões Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fabiano de Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Victor Simões fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gaviões Futebol Clube's protests and gave Victor Simões a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 played minutes Gaviões Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Victor Simões. In the 33rd minute, Cido Luz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luiz Fabiano de Almeida in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alfredo Maia, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Giovanni Pontes made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Fabiano de Almeida in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Maia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tião Galvão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giovanni Pontes went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 62nd minute, Luiz Fabiano de Almeida left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gaviões Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Luiz Fabiano de Almeida put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Alfredo Maia. After 72 minutes, Aírton Siqueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gaviões Futebol Clube and the Sport Club Niquito players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Sport Club Niquito booed when Gaviões Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 94th minute, Luiz Fabiano de Almeida made a precise shot to the right of Alfredo Maia. Sport Club Niquito's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. There was no doubt that Gaviões Futebol Clube were the better team. Gaviões Futebol Clube's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
