Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Edgardo Lekubegi came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Maracachita SS's Chiquinho Santana. But to his dismay, Chiquinho Santana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Dedê Severo's late challenge caught a Maracachita SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dedê Severo helped the player get up and apologised. Edgardo Lekubegi had in the 19thth minute some difficulties stopping Olavo Barros's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The throw-in from Mauro Mendes in the 22nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Maracachita SS's Inácio Vides. Maracachita SS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Kuzey Tanpınar scored to the left of an out of position Guga Vander, making the score, 1-1. Guga Vander made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Cafu Paes sent off a good shot on target. In the 33rdth minute of the game Cafu Paes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maracachita SS's Guga Vander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Maracachita SS booed when Unidos do Morro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kuzey Tanpınar didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Unidos do Morro FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Guto Marinho hit a great ball. Olavo Barros took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edgardo Lekubegi. Unidos do Morro FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, Nelson Fernandes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Edgardo Lekubegi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

If Kuzey Tanpınar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 66 minutes into the game, when Roberto Maia put in a rough tackle. Guga Vander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cafu Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If João Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maracachita SS's Guga Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cafu Paes in the 76th minute of play. Guga Vander stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cafu Paes's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Davi Rosa during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Unidos do Morro FC's Davi Rosa got a free kick in the 86th minute. The audience was convinced that Cafu Paes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guga Vander was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Guga Vander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cafu Paes in the 94th minute of the match. In the 98th minute, Cido Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Many of Maracachita SS's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Maracachita SS may have spent more time on the ball, but Unidos do Morro FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
