Fernandinho Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Sabóia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Danilo Bertassi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brejal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Paulo dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tadeu Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Paulão Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Ribeiro in the 26th minute of the match. After 33 played minutes Brejal got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Veloso. Juan Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Fernandinho Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Katchau's Fernandinho Mangueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Katchau from getting a goal against them. Paulo dos Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernandinho Mangueira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo dos Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Juan Sabóia sped through Katchau's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fernandinho Mangueira. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Fernandinho Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Mazinho Nogueira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulão Marques. That made the score 2-1 in the 66 minute of play. Katchau's Fernandinho Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Rossi in the 70th minute of play. Fernandinho Mangueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Gustavo Marques in the 71st minute of play. Fernandinho Mangueira came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Brejal's Paulo dos Santos. But to his dismay, Paulo dos Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Paulo dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Katchau defense, Paulo dos Santos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernandinho Mangueira. The Katchau fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernandinho Mangueira should have stopped the shot. Juan Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Fernandinho Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Brejal were the better team. Brejal's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
