The audience thought a goal was coming when Davi Simões got free with Pedro Luís Godoi in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of SF Aripuanã booed when Atlantis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aloísio Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Marco Ospin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 15thth minute of the game Marcelinho Lopes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlantis's Sidney da Costa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SF Aripuanã! Davi Simões shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Percy Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luís Godoi having to interfere. After 29 minutes of play, Atlantis's Percy Simões made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Luís Godoi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcelinho Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidney da Costa having to interfere. Marcelinho Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Luís Gomes charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Luís Gomes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Atlantis getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Pedro Luís Gomes hit a great ball. Rômulo Toledo struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Sidney da Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SF Aripuanã. After 46 minutes, Hugo Teles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlantis and the SF Aripuanã players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Atlantis's Hugo Teles got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iuri Sabóia to strike the kick off in the second half. One of SF Aripuanã:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Atlantis:s goal. Atlantis succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though SF Aripuanã had controlled the match.
