Atlético Cruz's attentive Eurico Capixaba managed to snatch the ball when Leandro Vieira made a throw-in in the 22nd minute of the game. Edson Zonta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Paulo Souza during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Umberto Batista yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

54 minutes into the match, Atlético Cruz's goal looked a bit too open when Jacobo Romelio came free, but Umberto Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute, Márcio Alcântara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Umberto Batista was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Umberto Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Márcio Alcântara in the 75th minute of play. If Jacobo Romelio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes in the game Sydney Leite did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Edson Zonta. A collision led to INDIGO getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Edson Zonta hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the match, Atlético Cruz's goal looked a bit too open when Márcio Alcântara came free, but Umberto Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. INDIGO had won after a very even match.
