Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Oscar Neves made the kick off and thus started the match. Virgílio Gomes took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Conrado Pirani. Conrado Pirani dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 13 minutes into the match, União da Mata's goal looked a bit too open when Válter Magalhães came free, but Acácio Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Virgílio Gomes in the 14thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Conrado Pirani, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Conrado Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Paulo Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Virgílio Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conrado Pirani having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, LOS BAIANOS's Válter Magalhães nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Acácio Catarinense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 24 played minutes LOS BAIANOS got a freekick which was hit by Válter Magalhães. Conrado Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Neves in the 24th minute of play. In the 30th minute Basílio Vianna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Acácio Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Douglas Catarinense kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Virgílio Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Conrado Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conrado Pirani stood somewhat misplaced when Oscar Neves came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 41 minute. Virgílio Gomes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Conrado Pirani made a huge save. União da Mata's Douglas Catarinense was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Conrado Pirani in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Válter Magalhães made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Virgílio Gomes made a precise shot to the right of Conrado Pirani. LOS BAIANOS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. After a rather tough play, União da Mata's Laerte Albuquerque got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 65th play minute Válter Magalhães came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Acácio Catarinense. 4-2. Conrado Pirani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 69 minutes into the match, LOS BAIANOS's goal looked a bit too open when Douglas Catarinense came free, but Conrado Pirani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to LOS BAIANOS getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Válter Magalhães hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oscar Neves in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Conrado Pirani prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Oscar Neves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Conrado Pirani was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. Acácio Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Vianna in the 87th minute of play. Rafa Marquez charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafa Marquez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd minute, one of LOS BAIANOS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for LOS BAIANOS. União da Mata's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
