The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. José Augusto Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramiro Soares in the 5th minute of the match. Alfredo Isauro might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basílio da Fonseca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfredo Isauro ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Alfredo Isauro managed to get in a good position for a shot. ➈Killers's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredo Isauro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basílio da Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 14 played minutes Xuripa got a freekick which was hit by João Augusto Mazza. 16 minutes into the game, Almir Cavalcante threw the ball into play from the sideline. ➈Killers's Maurício Amorim quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. João Augusto Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Augusto Mazza having to interfere. José Augusto Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Soares in the 20th minute of play. Alfredo Isauros short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Basílio da Fonseca to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alfredo Isauro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Basílio da Fonseca when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 30 minutes, Alfredo Isauro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ➈Killers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Isauro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute Alfredo Isauro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basílio da Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basílio da Fonseca made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Didi de Sousa sent off a good shot on target. Xuripa's João Augusto Mazza got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, ➈Killers's Sandro Vinhas got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind ➈Killers's goalkeeper José Augusto Mazza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Basílio da Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Isauro, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After some careless play in the Xuripa defense, Alfredo Isauro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Basílio da Fonseca. The Xuripa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basílio da Fonseca should have stopped the shot. José Augusto Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Augusto Mazza in the 68th minute of play. If Tony Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alfredo Isauro came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the ➈Killers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredo Isauro couldn't finish the play. Alfredo Isauro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Xuripa defense, Alfredo Isauro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Basílio da Fonseca. The Xuripa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basílio da Fonseca should have stopped the shot. Alfredo Isauro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Basílio da Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 86 minutes into the game, Ramiro Soares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Xuripa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ➈Killers the free kick. Jurģis Levikins kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. José Augusto Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Augusto Mazza in the 91st minute of the match. Didi de Sousa lost his temper 93 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Ramiro Soares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but José Augusto Mazza made a huge save.
