The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Alex Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Douradinho EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itambacury FC the free kick. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Douradinho EC's goalkeeper Elias Sousa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Itambacury FC's zone, Haroldo Bittencourt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik Gaúcho came out of the goal and Haroldo Bittencourt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alex Fernandes to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Itambacury FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cássio Brasil was slow to take the kick. During this time Douradinho EC's players had a chance to rest. Erik Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrézinho Tinoco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 56 minutes, Alex Fernandes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itambacury FC and the Douradinho EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th match minute, Itambacury FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. Andrézinho Tinoco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erik Gaúcho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Alex Fernandes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Erik Gaúcho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andrézinho Tinoco's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Douradinho EC's Reynaldo de Mendonça managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonardo Cabral in the 72 minute of the game. Alex Fernandes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Douradinho EC's Andrézinho Tinoco got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Andrézinho Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot. After 87 played minutes Douradinho EC got a freekick which was hit by Jano Hoffmann. Silvério Maciel's late challenge caught a Douradinho EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvério Maciel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 92nd minute, Andrézinho Tinoco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erik Gaúcho was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Itambacury FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Douradinho EC had won, even though Itambacury FC had held more of the ball.
