Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ramiro Soares took the kick off in the first half of the match. 5 minutes into the game, Alex Paraíba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Xuripa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave União da Mata the free kick. If Ramiro Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute, João Augusto Mazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Virgílio Gomes sped through Xuripa's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Basílio da Fonseca. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Xuripa's goalkeeper Basílio da Fonseca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, União da Mata's Luís Paulo Marquez got a free kick in the 19th minute. Basílio da Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Neves in the 21st minute of the match. Alex Paraíba kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Xuripa's goalkeeper Basílio da Fonseca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgílio Gomes. The crowd rose to their feet as União da Mata's Luís Paulo Marquez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Basílio da Fonseca. That made the score 3-0 after 24 minutes of play. Virgílio Gomes might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basílio da Fonseca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Virgílio Gomes ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, União da Mata's Basílio da Fonseca threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luís Paulo Marquez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 32nd match minute, Xuripa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Augusto Mazza to maneuver through the defense. Xuripa's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Luís Paulo Marquez 36 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-0. 44 minutes into the match, Xuripa's goalkeeper Basílio da Fonseca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Douglas Catarinense. Basílio da Fonseca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Virgílio Gomes in the 46th minute. Basílio da Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Paulo Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oscar Neves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Virgílio Gomes took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basílio da Fonseca. Basílio da Fonseca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Oscar Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio da Fonseca having to interfere. Basílio da Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Neves in the 58th minute of the match. Acácio Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Basílio da Fonseca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oscar Neves's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. In the 77th minute, União da Mata's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after João Augusto Mazza fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 79thth minute of the game Oscar Neves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xuripa's Basílio da Fonseca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. João Augusto Mazza hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Basílio da Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douglas Catarinense in the 82nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Xuripa's zone, Virgílio Gomes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basílio da Fonseca came out of the goal and Virgílio Gomes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basílio da Fonseca came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by União da Mata's Oscar Neves. But to his dismay, Oscar Neves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. 95 minutes into the match, Xuripa's goal looked a bit too open when Virgílio Gomes came free, but Basílio da Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that União da Mata were the better team. União da Mata's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
