Oscar Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Elias Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute Oscar Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Acácio Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrézinho Tinoco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elias Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgílio Gomes in the 19th minute of the match. After 20 played minutes Douradinho EC got a freekick which was hit by Pedrão Palmeira. Haroldo Bittencourt came free with the goalkeeper in the 22nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Acácio Catarinense could save by the left post. A collision led to União da Mata getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Alfredo Mendonça hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the game, Luís Paulo Marquez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Elias Sousa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 32nd minute, Andrézinho Tinoco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anísio Coutinho kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. União da Mata's Luís Paulo Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Douradinho EC booed when União da Mata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th match minute, Douradinho EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Andrézinho Tinoco made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the União da Mata defense, Andrézinho Tinoco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Acácio Catarinense. The União da Mata fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Acácio Catarinense should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Oscar Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. União da Mata's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elias Sousa didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 60th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. Douradinho EC's Elias Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Neves in the 73rd minute of play. In the 77th minute, Virgílio Gomes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elias Sousa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Elias Sousa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Andrézinho Tinoco took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Acácio Catarinense. Acácio Catarinense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Douradinho EC's Andrézinho Tinoco got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Andrézinho Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Douradinho EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrézinho Tinoco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Acácio Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luiz Eduardo Rezende was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 90 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Douradinho EC's Luiz Eduardo Rezende got a free kick in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Neves in the 94th minute of play forced Douradinho EC's goalkeeper Elias Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
