In the 19th minute Luiz Fábio Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válbson Hoffmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Válbson Hoffmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clemente da Fonseca in the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Inácio Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válbson Hoffmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Clemente da Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frédson Pimenta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 79th minute, Bernardo de Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Enrique Valladares came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Deficit Capixaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrique Valladares couldn't finish the play. Juninho Pirani hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Anselmo Ortiz from long distance, 87 minutes into the match, got Válbson Hoffmann's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 89th minute, Luiz Fábio Custódio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Válbson Hoffmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reginaldo de Mendonça in the 92nd minute of play forced Deficit Capixaba's goalkeeper Válbson Hoffmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardo de Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
