Cristo Cordara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Custódio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldir Abreu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The supporters of Sport Clube Lion booed when Royal Knights FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcel Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Cristóvão Valle notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sport Clube Lion's Waldir Abreu. Waldir Abreu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Manu Smets came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Royal Knights FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manu Smets couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristóvão Valle got free with Waldir Abreu in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Waldir Abreu managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Royal Knights FC's Cristóvão Valle fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Cristóvão Valle sped through Sport Clube Lion's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Waldir Abreu. Royal Knights FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
