In the 18th minute, Marcos Neves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Válbson Hoffmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Fabiano Pitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the match, Deficit Capixaba's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Gaúcho came free, but Válbson Hoffmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Juriti's Henrique de Mendonça was substituted for Felipe Vasconcelos. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frédson Pimenta to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Júlio Gaúcho made a precise shot to the right of Válbson Hoffmann. Serafim Santos charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
