They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Juriti's Henrique de Mendonça was substituted for Felipe Vasconcelos. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wágner Cunha got free with Vitório Moraes in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Marcos Neves took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Vitório Moraes to make any attempt to save it. Wágner Cunha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee ignored Juriti's protests and gave Marcus Dantas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 90th match minute, Juriti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus Dantas to maneuver through the defense. During the 93rd minute of the match Marcus Dantas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marcus Dantas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Juriti to win.
