Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Otávio Porto took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 6th match minute, Catanduva FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliézer Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. Ivo Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Washington Assis in the 7th minute of play. After 8 played minutes Catanduva FC got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Maranhense. Washington Assis scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivo Leme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Washington Assis sped through Catanduva FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ivo Leme. Ivo Leme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Washington Assis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivo Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Washington Assis in the 35th minute of play. After having played for 35 minutes, Ediberto Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Atlético Serrano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ediberto Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Washington Assis in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivo Leme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eliézer Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The Catanduva FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Clube Atlético Serrano were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Washington Assis to make the kick off. Vivaldo Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Leme having to interfere. With a little luck, Catanduva FC's Ivo Leme got control of the ball when Washington Assis tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Clube Atlético Serrano's Washington Assis in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Catanduva FC's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otávio Porto in the 56th minute of play forced Clube Atlético Serrano's goalkeeper Marcelo Messias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otávio Porto took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelo Messias. Marcelo Messias dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 68th minute, Aílton Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Vivaldo Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute, Washington Assis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Clube Atlético Serrano's Washington Assis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ivo Leme. That made the score 1-4 after 80 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Catanduva FC's zone, Washington Assis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivo Leme came out of the goal and Washington Assis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute of the match, Washington Assis got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ivo Leme was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The Catanduva FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Clube Atlético Serrano were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
