Vic Vanpevenaeyge had in the 8thth minute some difficulties stopping Bernardo de Queiroz's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. With a little luck, Recursolandia's Vic Vanpevenaeyge got control of the ball when Nuno Botelho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Josué Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Renan Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 20 minutes, Josué Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Recursolandia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josué Amaral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Josué Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Josué Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matías Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renan Cavalcante having to interfere. Nuno Botelho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Vic Vanpevenaeyge made a huge save. After having played for 40 minutes, Josué Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Recursolandia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josué Amaral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 45 played minutes Recursolandia got a freekick which was hit by Josué Amaral. In the 47th minute, Josué Amaral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Renan Cavalcante was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nuno Botelho made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josué Amaral in the 54th minute of play forced Sao Paulo CE's goalkeeper Renan Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vic Vanpevenaeyge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovani Tróia in the 56th minute of play. If Josué Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sao Paulo CE getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Bernardo de Queiroz hit a great ball. Josué Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renan Cavalcante having to interfere. Vic Vanpevenaeyge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raphael Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Josué Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Sao Paulo CE getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Josué Matos hit a great ball. Sao Paulo CE's Renan Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matías Matorin in the 77th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Matías Matorin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Renan Cavalcante was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Renan Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josué Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bo Lang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josué Amaral's late challenge caught a Sao Paulo CE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Josué Amaral helped the player get up and apologised. After 92 played minutes Recursolandia got a freekick which was hit by Josué Amaral. The audience was convinced that Guto Arce's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vic Vanpevenaeyge was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. If Josué Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sao Paulo CE's zone, Josué Amaral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renan Cavalcante came out of the goal and Josué Amaral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Recursolandia could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sao Paulo CE throughout the match.
