In the 3rd minute Diamantino Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renan Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute of the match Bernardo de Queiroz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Magno Figueiredo skillfully saved the ball. Perivaldo Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Renan Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diamantino Mendonça in the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Nuno Botelho made a precise shot to the right of Magno Figueiredo. Zundao's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Sao Paulo CE's Renan Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Mendonça in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Giovani Tróia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sao Paulo CE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Magno Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. When Diamantino Mendonça fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zundao's protests and gave Diamantino Mendonça a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th match minute, Zundao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diamantino Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Diamantino Mendonça made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Mendonça in the 53rd minute of play forced Sao Paulo CE's goalkeeper Renan Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute, Giovani Tróia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Magno Figueiredo. The goal made the score 0-8. If Ramón de Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Magno Figueiredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giovani Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nuno Botelho in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Magno Figueiredo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Guto Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Magno Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Sao Paulo CE's Giovani Tróia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-9. Zundao's Magno Figueiredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raphael Trigo in the 95th minute of play.
