Brusque FC's Cristian Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Carlos de Godoi in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to Brusque FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Fabiano Contaldi hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, Fabiano Contaldi notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of C Sinopense O Retorno FC's Thiago Machado. Thiago Machado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thiago Machado came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Brusque FC's Duarte dos Santos. But to his dismay, Duarte dos Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Ricardo Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brusque FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Bueno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Machado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in C Sinopense O Retorno FC's zone, Ricardo Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Machado came out of the goal and Ricardo Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Nilmar Monteiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristian Moreira was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Ikonom Anakiev lost his temper 44 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 46th minute there was a penalty for C Sinopense O Retorno FC. Horácio Coelho stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cristian Moreira. 2-2. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antônio Carlos de Godoi was the one to do the kick off. When Victor Alves came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the C Sinopense O Retorno FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Alves couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, C Sinopense O Retorno FC's Gilson Arantes got a free kick in the 59th minute. Ricardo Bueno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilmar Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute, Nilmar Monteiro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cristian Moreira. The goal made the score 2-3. After a rather tough play, C Sinopense O Retorno FC's Victor Alves got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute, Antônio Carlos de Godoi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristian Moreira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nilmar Monteiro in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristian Moreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Robert Banciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to C Sinopense O Retorno FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Gilson Arantes hit a great ball. Thiago Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Bueno in the 87th minute of the match.
