Juan Veiga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raimundo Falcão having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Flávio Bueno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rony Soeiro was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. When Clemente Macedo fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Poá FC's protests and gave Clemente Macedo a yellow card for diving instead. After 23 played minutes Real Poá FC got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Macedo. Dráuzio Silveira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rony Soeiro. Real Poá FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bernardo de Limas short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Rony Soeiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Caneleiros da Várzea's Fausto Mangueira got a free kick in the 30th minute. After 36 minutes, Fausto Mangueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caneleiros da Várzea and the Real Poá FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fausto Mangueira kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. If Juan Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flávio Bueno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rony Soeiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th match minute, Real Poá FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráuzio Pena to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Fiori Baiano made the kick off in the second half. Dráuzio Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Bernardo de Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flávio Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Rony Soeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Caneleiros da Várzea's zone, Fiori Baiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raimundo Falcão came out of the goal and Fiori Baiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernardo de Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rony Soeiro having to interfere. The supporters of Caneleiros da Várzea booed when Real Poá FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute, Bernardo de Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rony Soeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo de Lima in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Flávio Bueno made a precise shot to the right of Rony Soeiro. Real Poá FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Flávio Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rony Soeiro having to interfere. If Bernardo de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Real Poá FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
