Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Caneleiros da Várzea's Flávio Bueno started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Geovanni Neto made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Rony Madureira sent off a good shot on target. But to his dismay, Fred Munhoz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 16th play minutes Fausto Mangueira shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Geovanni Neto and just under the crossbar into goal. Geovanni Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flávio Bueno could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Geovanni Neto made a huge save. Rony Madureira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Geovanni Neto made a huge save. Bernardo de Lima let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 31st minute shot 3-1 at rihgt post. 34 minutes into the match, Taquary's goalkeeper Geovanni Neto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernardo de Lima. Geovanni Neto made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Rony Madureira sent off a good shot on target. Taquary's Geovanni Neto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Taquary from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Mangueira in the 39th minute of play forced Taquary's goalkeeper Geovanni Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Caneleiros da Várzea booed when Taquary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernardo de Limas short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Geovanni Neto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Geovanni Neto made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Bernardo de Lima sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fred Munhoz made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Taquary's goal looked a bit too open when Flávio Bueno came free, but Geovanni Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geovanni Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo de Lima in the 52nd minute of play. When Vânderson Santana fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taquary's protests and gave Vânderson Santana a yellow card for diving instead. Vânderson Santana kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Taquary defense, Flávio Bueno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Geovanni Neto. The Taquary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geovanni Neto should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Mangueira in the 57th minute of play forced Taquary's goalkeeper Geovanni Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute Bernardo de Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovanni Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Taquary's goal looked a bit too open when Rony Madureira came free, but Geovanni Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Eduardo Rosa hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Tião Sanches recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
