Caneleiros da Várzea's Raimundo Falcão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dé Novaes in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Flávio Bueno made a precise shot to the right of Afonsinho Mineiro. Sporting Toledense's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Rony Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo de Lima in the 48th minute of play forced Sporting Toledense's goalkeeper Afonsinho Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 70th minute, Sporting Toledense's Dé Novaes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dé Novaes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. Raimundo Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Caneleiros da Várzea's Fausto Mangueira, in the 90th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Caneleiros da Várzea. Basílio Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
