Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Virgílio Varela kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Balanca's goal looked a bit too open when Jeferson Peixoto came free, but Cléberson da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo José Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Cléberson da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeferson Peixoto hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Virgílio Varela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Virgílio Varela fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Balanca's protests and gave Virgílio Varela a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Virgílio Varela in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Delfim de Godoi saved Saecinza from getting behind. The supporters of Balanca booed when Saecinza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Virgílio Varela hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. The Saecinza fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Saecinza's Gilberto Mineiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Saecinza's Paulo José Damião got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilberto Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Cléberson da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thomás Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delfim de Godoi having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Saecinza's Gilberto Mineiro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After 39 played minutes Saecinza got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson Peixoto.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gilberto Mineiro to make the kick off. With a little luck, Saecinza's Delfim de Godoi got control of the ball when Thomás Passos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Delfim de Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Paulo José Damião came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Saecinza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo José Damião couldn't finish the play. Cléberson da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo José Damião in the 61st minute of play. Thomás Passos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Delfim de Godoi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 67 played minutes Saecinza got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson Peixoto. Balanca's Carlos Augusto Barros couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 68th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Saecinza. In the 71st minute, Jeferson Peixoto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Gilberto Mineiro came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Saecinza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Mineiro couldn't finish the play. 76 minutes into the match, Paulo José Damião notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Balanca's Cléberson da Cunha. Cléberson da Cunha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Juvenal de Godoi fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Balanca's protests and gave Juvenal de Godoi a yellow card for diving instead. Juvenal de Godoi kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 85th minute Virgílio Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim de Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilberto Mineiro struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Cléberson da Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Balanca players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Saecinza.
