An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio Varela in the 4th minute of play forced Villalobos FC's goalkeeper Ruy Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 7 played minutes Balanca got a freekick which was hit by Juvenal de Godoi. In a very dangerous position, a player in Villalobos FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! In the 21st minute, Vicente Azevedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Villalobos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Thomás Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruy Machado having to interfere. Ruy Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomás Passos in the 26th minute of the match. Vicente Azevedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cléberson da Cunha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vicente Azevedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Juvenal de Godoi's late challenge caught a Villalobos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juvenal de Godoi helped the player get up and apologised. Cléberson da Cunha made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Vicente Azevedo sent off a good shot on target. Vicente Azevedo took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cléberson da Cunha. Cléberson da Cunha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Cléberson da Cunha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedrão Duarte's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. When Juvenal de Godoi was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 40 minutes had been played. Juvenal de Godoi kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The attack was good, but when Pedrão Duarte in the 43rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Virgílio Varela hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After 49 minutes Balanca's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Carlos Alberto Godoi who took care of the corner kick. Vicente Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Cléberson da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Cléberson da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Balanca booed when Villalobos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júnior Camargo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedrão Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Cléberson da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Vicente Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 75 minutes, Pedrão Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villalobos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedrão Duarte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thomás Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruy Machado having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, Balanca's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Cardoso came free, but Cléberson da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th match minute, Balanca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gugu Baptista to maneuver through the defense. After 90 played minutes, Villalobos FC's Carlos Alberto Godoi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cléberson da Cunha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Villalobos FC reached it. The supporters of Villalobos FC booed when Balanca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgílio Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Villalobos FC had played much better football throughout.
