EC Framengo's Juarês Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrão Duarte in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute, EC Framengo's Fernando Rezende dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. An unexpected shot in the 23rd minute by Diogo Falcão got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. EC Framengo's Juarês Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrão Duarte in the 32nd minute of play. Fernando Rezendes short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Ruy Machado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Régis de Mendonça in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ruy Machado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Juarês Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrão Duarte in the 37th minute of the match. After 40 minutes EC Framengo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Carlos Alberto Godoi who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Carlos Alberto Godoi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Juarês Neves quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Juarês Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The supporters of Villalobos FC booed when EC Framengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guto Ferraz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Carlos Alberto Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villalobos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Alberto Godoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedrão Duarte to make the kick off. After 56 played minutes EC Framengo got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Rezende. The supporters of Villalobos FC booed when EC Framengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd match minute, EC Framengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evandro do Valle to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute, Villalobos FC's Vicente Azevedo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Evandro do Valle hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, Renan Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Villalobos FC booed when EC Framengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Falcão didn't get a good kick on the ball. The EC Framengo fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when EC Framengo's Régis de Mendonça looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vicente Azevedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Juarês Neves made a huge save. When Danilo Moraes fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villalobos FC's protests and gave Danilo Moraes a yellow card for diving instead.
