Gurjao's David Pitta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Gurjao from getting a goal against them. 13 minutes into the match, Gurjao's goalkeeper David Pitta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabriel Moura. The crowd rose to their feet as Arnaldo Lago kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving David Pitta. That made the score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. In the 19th minute, Ibiracu's Gabriel Moura ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind David Pitta. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Linhares in the 57th minute of play forced Gurjao's goalkeeper David Pitta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gurjao's David Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Lago in the 58th minute of play. 60 minutes into the game, Ibiracu's Laerte Linhares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Pitta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Ronaldão Tinoco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Carlos Marinho in the 65th minute of play. After 66 minutes Ibiracu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Antônio Carlos Marinho who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Guto Paulista got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ronaldão Tinoco quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. David Pitta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raimundo Prado went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to Gurjao getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Guto Paulista hit a great ball. Artur Bezerra kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Arnaldo Lago left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ibiracu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. In the 87th match minute, Gurjao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válter Pereira to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute, Raimundo Prado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Pitta was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. David Pitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laerte Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. David Pitta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnaldo Lago's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ibiracu fully deserved thier win.
