The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Luiz Fernando da Mata had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafinha Maia. CR.RICARRDO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Fernando da Mata was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 6th minute, Luís Paulo Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute, Alfredinho Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the CR.RICARRDO defense, Alfredinho Borges kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafinha Maia. The CR.RICARRDO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafinha Maia should have stopped the shot. Luiz Fernando da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute Alfredinho Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafinha Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredinho Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Rafinha Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 played minutes CR.RICARRDO got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Tinoco. After having played for 25 minutes, Alfredinho Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A. Juventus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredinho Borges was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The C.A. Juventus fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when C.A. Juventus's Luiz Fernando da Mata looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Alfredinho Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A. Juventus's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredinho Borges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafinha Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Délio Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Rafinha Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When C.A. Juventus booed when CR.RICARRDO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Lago didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Alfredinho Borges made the kick off in the second half. Sydney Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. In the 79th minute Sebastião Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafinha Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafinha Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredinho Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Alfredinho Borges took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Rafinha Maia to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to C.A. Alfredinho Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafinha Maia having to interfere. C.A. Juventus's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
