The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Artur Tinoco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manoel Lopes's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. A collision led to Rio das Ostras FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Donny Neira hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, S C Novaki's Edson Novaes got a free kick in the 13th minute. After 15 played minutes Rio das Ostras FC got a freekick which was hit by Roland Apelquist. Artur Tinoco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Paulo Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Paulo Tróia scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Artur Tinoco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Paulo Tróia in the 26th minute of play forced Rio das Ostras FC's goalkeeper Artur Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artur Tinoco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manoel Lopes in the 30th minute of play. Arnaldo Tavares kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Mané Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christer Palmkvist in the 34th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guga Macedo during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Rio das Ostras FC's Guga Macedo got a free kick in the 44th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christer Palmkvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Rio das Ostras FC got a freekick which was hit by Roland Apelquist. After a defensive mix-up in S C Novaki's zone, Donny Neira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mané Trancoso came out of the goal and Donny Neira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christer Palmkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Christer Palmkvist charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christer Palmkvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Christer Palmkvist hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Donny Neira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonardo Barros hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Rio das Ostras FC's Artur Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manoel Lopes in the 87th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Christer Palmkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute, Christer Palmkvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The S C Novaki players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
